The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach is hosting an Autism Families Night on this coming Sunday, September 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Families with adults or children with autism sometimes have a difficult time visiting theme parks, zoos, aquariums, or other similar destinations because of crowds, high levels of ambient noise, and other stimuli. During Autism Families Nights at the Aquarium, these types of stimuli are reduced, making it a more tranquil setting for these families to enjoy a night out together.
Part of the Aquarium’s vision is to welcome people of all backgrounds and abilities to learn about the ocean, especially those who might not otherwise have access the experiences the Aquarium regularly provides. This inclusive approach ensures that all people have the opportunity to become ocean stewards. Please visit http://www.aquariumofpacific.org/events/info/autism_families_night/ for more information.
